Legal-Forensic UAP Analysis: They Warned The Pastors. Now The Files Are Open — And Every Thread Leads To The Same Place

On May 8, 2026, the United States government opened the vault. What came out confirms what USA Herald has been documenting for weeks — and what the FBI has been filing since 1966. This is not a coincidence. This is a convergence.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Date of Disclosure: May 8, 2026

Yesterday, the Pentagon released 162 never-before-seen government files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena to a public portal at WAR.GOV/UFO. Videos from military platforms in Iraq, Syria, Greece and the Indo-Pacific. State Department diplomatic cables from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Papua New Guinea, and Mexico. Apollo-era photographs with unexplained anomalies. An FBI lab composite sketch — rendered from corroborating eyewitness reports — of an ellipsoid bronze metallic object 130 to 195 feet in length that materialized out of a bright light in the sky in September 2023 and vanished instantaneously.

Two days ago, Bishop Alan DiDio of the Revival Nation Church confirmed publicly what USA Herald first began tracking weeks ago: that he was one of six Christian pastors summoned to a private government meeting — phones off, no recordings — to be warned that disclosure was coming, that the information would be spiritually destabilizing, and that they needed to prepare their congregations.

Today, looking at what is inside today's files, and cross-referencing them against what I have been reading all week in the declassified FBI Case File 62-HQ-83894, Section 10 — I can tell you that the government's decision to brief pastors before opening the archives was not a political stunt. It was not optics management. It was not a coincidence.

It was the logical conclusion of sixty years of the government knowing exactly what these files say.

Let me build the case.

EXHIBIT ONE: WHAT TODAY'S FILES ACTUALLY TELL US

The Trump administration's PURSUE program — the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters — went live on May 8, 2026, under the direction of the Department of War, with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, NASA, the FBI, and the State Department all contributing materials. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on May 6th that his agency had already submitted its first tranche to the interagency committee overseeing the release. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the files had been "hidden behind classifications" and that it was time for the American people to see them.

The Pentagon itself characterized every item in today's release this way: "The materials archived here are unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena."

Understand the legal weight of that language. The United States government is not saying these are mistakes or misidentifications. They are saying — on the official public record — that they do not know what these things are. That is an extraordinary admission, and it is the foundational context for everything that follows.

Among the most striking items in yesterday's release:

The orbs, 2003, Western United States. Federal law enforcement officers independently — separately, without coordination — reported encounters involving orb-shaped craft. One officer reported watching an orb launch other orbs. The Pentagon, in yesterday's release, describes this as among the most compelling reports it holds.

The bronze metallic ellipsoid, September 2023. An FBI lab-generated composite image, built from multiple corroborating eyewitness accounts, depicts an ellipsoid bronze metallic object 130 to 195 feet in length — roughly the size of a 12-story building laid on its side — that materialized from a bright light in the sky, hovered, and then disappeared instantaneously. The FBI did not build a composite image around this report because they thought it was trivial. FBI labs exist to build evidentiary exhibits. This is an evidentiary exhibit.

The Gemini 7 "bogey," December 1965. Astronaut Frank Borman, in a documented exchange with Houston approximately four and a half hours into the flight, reported a "bogey at ten o'clock high." Houston asked him to repeat. Borman described the object as "hundreds of little particles going by to the left, about three or four miles." That exchange is now in the federal record, publicly accessible, unresolved.

The Greece encounter, 2023. An unidentified object executing multiple 90-degree turns at approximately 80 miles per hour. No known human aircraft performs 90-degree turns at speed.

Iraq, 2024. A craft observed by U.S. military surveillance systems moving at high speed across the field of view while a crew was engaged with an unrelated target.

State Department cables, 1985–2025. American diplomats in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Papua New Guinea, and Mexico formally reported to Washington the testimony of pilots, crews, and civilians who witnessed aerial phenomena performing maneuvers that were — in the words of a Tajikistan cable reporting a commercial crew's account of an object at 41,000 feet — incompatible with any meteor, satellite, or conventional aircraft they had encountered in careers of flying.

And there is the Roswell memo — filed by the FBI's Dallas field office in 1947, reporting that an Air Force major called to say an object had been recovered near Roswell, New Mexico. Now made public today with reduced redactions. It is not new. But its placement inside PURSUE — alongside 2023 and 2024 military encounters — is the government's way of saying something it cannot yet say directly: the phenomenon has continuity. It did not begin in 2020 with the Navy videos. It has been here a long time.

EXHIBIT TWO: WHAT USA HERALD HAS ALREADY FOUND IN THE FBI'S HISTORICAL FILES

Before yesterday's release, USA Herald obtained and forensically analyzed FBI Case File 62-HQ-83894, Section 10 — 184 pages of the Bureau's official UAP record spanning 1966 to 1977. It is the historical root system that today's files grow out of.

The most explosive document in that file is an official FBI Letterhead Memorandum dated October 10, 1967, prepared by the Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Field Office and forwarded to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.

An anonymous woman had walked into the Dallas FBI office the day before. She said she had, in July of that year, met a being from another planet who had assumed earthly form. She said the being had been picked up and departed from Earth on August 21, 1967. She said she had subsequently received information — by a method she refused to describe — from non-earthly sources. And those sources had told her the following:

That an antimissile had been fired at a UFO over Africa in May 1962 but the craft was protected by a force field. That a UFO had been detected by radar 22,000 miles from Earth. That a UFO had been spotted over Antarctica. And that a UFO had been detected over the Dewline — the Distant Early Warning radar network stretching across Alaska and northern Canada — that it had been shot down, and that beings from outer space were actively attempting to recover it.

The SAC Dallas produced six copies of that memorandum. He forwarded one to Air Force Office of Special Investigations at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

Now read today's file describing a 2003 western U.S. encounter: federal law enforcement officers independently reporting orbs. An orb launching other orbs. The Pentagon calling it "among the most compelling" reports it holds.

A being from another planet, 1967, claims a UAP was shot down and non-human entities were attempting recovery. In 2003, law enforcement observes orbs deploying additional orbs over the western United States. In 2023, an FBI lab renders a composite of a craft materializing from a bright light and vanishing instantaneously.

In a courtroom, I would call this a pattern. In national security, they call it continuity of phenomenon. The government, apparently, calls it an unresolved case.

EXHIBIT THREE: WHAT THE PASTORS WERE TOLD — AND WHY IT MATCHES EXACTLY

Two days before today's release, Bishop Alan DiDio of the Revival Nation Church confirmed what Tennessee evangelist Perry Stone had begun describing publicly on April 27th: that a group of approximately six Christian pastors were privately convened in a meeting with individuals connected to U.S. intelligence.

Phones were placed on silent. No recordings were made. What the pastors say they were told:

Disclosure is coming. Crafts not from this planet will be part of what is released. Unusual materials. Possible non-human beings. Information that may cause some Christians to lose their faith. And a specific warning: that when this drops, people are going to come to their pastors — confused, frightened, unmoored — and ask: What is this? Is this really real?

Perry Stone went further in describing what he said was discussed: references to beings described as reptilian in appearance, spacecraft, and recovered materials from non-human origin. He compared the coming disclosure to what biblical prophecy calls the great deception. Stone, DiDio, and fellow attendee Tony Merkel all confirmed that the information was being positioned, in their view — with a message designed to tell believers: You were close. But no cigar.

Here's the legal-forensic connection that every other outlet is missing.

The government has not just been thinking about the faith community since some recent briefing cycle. The FBI has had this question in an official evidence file since 1966.

Inside Case File 62-HQ-83894 — the same case I have been reporting on — is a magazine. An actual magazine, stamped with its federal evidence serial number, filed by J. Edgar Hoover's correspondence office as a permanent exhibit. Inside that magazine is a formal article by Dr. Wernher von Braun, then the head of the George C. Marshall Space Travel Centre and the chief architect of America's moon rocket program, arguing that science and religion are not adversaries and that the soul survives physical death. It is published in the official journal of the Amalgamated Flying Saucer Clubs of America.

The same magazine contains the following, all filed as FBI evidence:

A 14th-century Yugoslav monastery fresco depicting the Resurrection of Jesus Christ that monks and archaeologists described as indistinguishable in structure from a rocket launch, with flanking pilot figures in streamlined vehicles. A 17th-century Moscow Theological Academy icon of the same Resurrection, captioned in the magazine — and in the FBI file — with the words: "The House of the Lord resembles a space ship."

An analysis of the Star of Bethlehem as an unidentified aerial phenomenon that descended and alighted on a mountain "like an eagle."

A Soviet scientist listing five possible explanations for UFOs — including, as the fifth: spaceships from an advanced civilization on another planet. Filed in an FBI evidence case.

A formal proposal to United Nations Secretary General U Thant, signed by a list of scientists that includes Dr. Carl Sagan of NASA and Dr. J. Allen Hynek, the Air Force's own Project Blue Book scientific consultant — requesting that the UN convene a global scientific conference on the UAP phenomenon.

In this same FBI file: the Dallas informant's report of a being from another planet that had assumed human form. Stone's description of what pastors were warned about — "reptilian-looking creatures" — lands differently when you have already read a 1967 FBI document describing a being from another planet who specifically needed to assume earthly form in order to walk among us. The obvious implication of assuming earthly form is that the original form was something else.

The FBI had this in an evidence file in 1967. They made six copies. They sent one to the Air Force. And they said nothing to the public for nearly sixty years.

EXHIBIT FOUR: THE THREAD THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO PULL

Here is the thing that makes yesterday's PURSUE release simultaneously important and insufficient.

The Pentagon described all 162 files released on May 8, as "unresolved." But that framing carries a hidden assumption — that the resolution, when it comes, will be something the American mind can absorb without institutional support.

The government does not believe that. The quiet briefing of pastors — private, off-record, phones down — tells you exactly what the government believes about how this information will land when it is fully disclosed.

That tells you something about what they believe full disclosure will mean for the frameworks that hold millions of American lives together.

Wernher von Braun understood this in 1966. He published his answer — science and God are not enemies, the soul is real, immortality is the continuation of spiritual existence — in a flying saucer magazine that the FBI subsequently filed as government evidence. He was threading a needle that the national security apparatus has been avoiding ever since. He was saying: when this comes out, it does not have to be a crisis. The two great forces of civilization — science and faith — can survive the answer together. Because the answer has always been pointing at the same thing.

What the 1967 Dallas informant described — a being from another planet who assumed human form, who gave information, who departed, and whose non-earthly sources then communicated ongoing intelligence — is not, to a serious student of religious history, an unfamiliar narrative structure. The FBI did not file that report because it was easy to dismiss. They filed it because they did not know what to do with it.

Sixty years later, the government is still in that same position. They have the files. They have the pattern. They have the photographs, the composites, the diplomatic cables, the astronaut transcripts, and the 2003 orbs-launching-orbs report. And they are calling pastors in advance because they know — as Wernher von Braun knew, as J. Edgar Hoover knew when he kept that magazine — that the moment the full picture comes into focus, the question every human being on earth is going to ask is not a scientific one.

It is the same question that has been asked in every civilization, in every century, in every language.

What are they? Where did they come from? And what does that make us?

The government does not have the answer. But they have finally opened the file.

WHAT USA HERALD IS WATCHING

Yesterday's release is the first tranche. The Pentagon has committed to releasing new materials on a rolling basis, every few weeks, through WAR.GOV/UFO. Representative Anna Paulina Luna has publicly indicated that additional files are forthcoming that yesterday's release did not include. The government acknowledged that tens of millions of records — many existing only on paper — are still being reviewed.

On the congressional front, the unanswered demand remains: which intelligence officials attended the pastor briefings? What was the authorization for those meetings? What specific information was shared? Did those meetings represent an unofficial pre-disclosure strategy — and if so, who approved it?

On the forensic record: the FBI's historical case file 62-HQ-83894 is not the only such file. It is Section 10 of an investigation that ran for decades. Sections 1 through 9 exist. So do the cross-referenced Air Force OSI files, the NICAP correspondence files, the Project Blue Book records, and whatever the 2023 FBI FaceTime interview with a drone operator at a U.S. test site produced — the one yesterday's release references but redacts.

USA Herald will continue to analyze each new tranche as it drops. We will read every page. We will cross-reference every document against the historical record. We will apply the same legal-forensic standard we have applied since the beginning of this series: not what we believe, not what we want to be true, but what the paper says — what the stamps confirm, what the chain of custody proves, and what the pattern, taken as a whole, requires any honest analyst to conclude.

The government has now opened the vault.

We are going inside.
