House Democrats passed spending measures to end the shutdown and expressed their intention to engage in negotiations for border security funding. Those spending bills are “Senate Republican appropriations legislation to re-open the government,” according to Pelosi.
Yesterday, the House Speaker tweeted that House Democrats will again “vote on more bipartisan bills” to end the shutdown.
This week, @HouseDemocrats will vote on more bipartisan bills to re-open government, and act to bolster funding for border security solutions that work. @realDonaldTrump & @senatemajldr need to stop holding Americans hostage, stop blocking these bills, and #EndTheShutdown now.

Last month, Trump told Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, “I am proud to shut down the government for border security…I will take the mantle…and I’m not going to blame you for it.”
However, the President stepped back from his words and blamed the House Speaker for the shutdown.
