Altman said, “This is one reason the governor and I are fighting so hard to preserve the consumer protections that so many Pennsylvanians have under the ACA.”

Under the ACA, women will not worry about the fee for such type of potential life-saving test, said Altman.

27 Pennsylvania women get breast cancer diagnosis every day

In her speech, Altman noted that every day 27 women in Pennsylvania get diagnosis that they have breast cancer. She added five women in the state die from the disease daily.

She said, “These aren’t just numbers – these are our mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors.”

Altman also thanked the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition for its work for women fighting the disease.

“I know the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition won’t stop fighting until these numbers and the people they represent reach zero. I am here to tell you that Governor Wolf will be there fighting with you every step of the way,” said Altman.
