Police are now claiming it was a planned attack.
Texts between Momeni’s sister and Lee are a part of the court documents.
Several of Lee’s friends have given statements. One friend who spoke to police said that Lee told Momeni that his sister had not taken any substances and that “nothing inappropriate had happened.”
The video shows the pair driving together in the early hours through downtown San Francisco. Their argument continued even after Lee exited the car that was registered to the suspect.
Momeni is suspected of stabbing Lee multiple times. And the knife was recovered near the scene on Main Street.
Police claim that Momeni brought a large kitchen knife with him in a “planned and deliberate attack.”
“This scenario would explain in part why Lee was walking through a portion of Main Street in which there is little to no foot traffic at 2:30 a.m.,” according to news outlet Mission Local.
“That was one of several incongruous circumstances surrounding Lee’s violent death, which law-enforcement sources from the get-go felt made it far from a straightforward or random crime.”
