In a groundbreaking move, Google has unleashed its cutting-edge generative AI technology, known as Google Search Generative Experience (SGE), to a select group of users in the United States. 

You can picture SGE as a Google Search and Google Bard combo—you get answers generated by Google's large language models right on Google's search result pages.

At its core, SGE allows you to ask and get plausible responses to complex questions on Google Search in a manner that has previously been hard to get right, if not outright impossible. It allows you to perform multistep conversational queries and get instant results without performing multiple searches or clicking through multiple websites.

This innovative integration of conversational AI into the traditional search experience aims to revolutionize how we find information online.

Alongside SGE, Google users will also gain access to Google's "Search Labs," offering additional advanced features. Excitingly, you can join the waiting list to be among the first users to experience these remarkable advancements.

Unveiled at the Google I/O 2023 event, Google SGE introduces a familiar yet unique approach to AI-powered search. Unlike Bing AI, Google's AI functions seamlessly within the existing search bar interface.

 Upon conducting a search, users will now find generative AI results displayed in a shaded section below the search bar but above the standard web results. By tapping a button, users can expand the snapshot, revealing cards with sourced articles that provide key information and links for further exploration. 

Additionally, users can ask follow-up questions with a simple tap.

Google's vision for this experiment extends beyond its initial release. The company plans to continuously update and improve the generative AI capabilities, making search even more natural and intuitive. User feedback will play an important role in shaping the future of AI-powered search.

Search Generative Experience

Furthermore, Google is expanding access to its Search Labs, introducing new functionalities such as "Code Tips" and "Add to Sheets."

These features are designed to enhance the overall search experience and provide added value to users. "Code Tips" utilizes large language models to offer guidance for more efficient coding, while "Add to Sheets" allows users to insert search results into Google's spreadsheet application directly, streamlining information organization.

If you're eager to join the Search Labs waiting list, the process is simple. 

Just click on the Labs icon, represented by a beaker symbol, found on a new tab while using Chrome on a desktop or within the Google search app on Android or iOS. Although Google has not disclosed the exact timeline and availability scope for Search Labs, patience will be rewarded for those outside the United States.
