A Republican state senator in Virginia has joined a chorus of Republicans in calling for President Donald Trump to declare martial law in order to stay on as president.

State Sen. Amanda F. Chase, who is running for governor and calls herself “Trump in heels,” on Tuesday called on the president to declare martial law in order to stay in the White House, The Washington Post reported.

“Not my President and never will be,” she said on Facebook of President-elect Joe Biden. “The American people aren’t fools. We know you cheated to win and we’ll never accept these results.

“Fair elections we can accept but cheating to win; never. It’s not over yet. So thankful President Trump has a backbone and refuses to concede. President Trump should declare martial law as recommended by General Flynn,” she said.

The post from the state senator came precisely one day after the Electoral College voted to make the former vice president the president-elect.

Interviewed on  Tuesday, Chase said that she was still hopeful that, when the electoral college ballots are formally counted during a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, President Trump would be the winner.
