On Wednesday, in the midst of the mayhem of the US. withdraw from Afghanistan, President  Biden came to the podium.  He gave introductory remarks on cybersecurity. Then he was questioned by NBC’s Peter Alexander.  Alexander asked what he will do if Americans are still in Afghanistan after Aug 31.  White House staff immediately cut off Biden’s audio feed.

Initially, the president had dismissed all questions. This is the only one he tried to answer.

And the reporters in the briefing reported that Biden responded to Alexander  that “you’ll be the first person I call.” Meaning that when he decided or was told what to do, he would let the reporter know.

Alexander confirmed Biden’s answer on Twitter. “I asked President Biden what he will do if Americans are still in Afghanistan after the 8/31 deadline. His response: ‘You’ll be the first person I call.’ Took no questions.”

Daily Caller correspondent Shelby Talcott, Breitbart correspondent Charlie Spiering, and Voice of America’s Steve Herman all confirmed the President’s “joke”.

Biden’s audio feed cut to protect him?

When the mic was cut off no one could tell if it was a coincidence. Or if the audio interruption was done to prevent viewers from hearing Biden’s unscripted comments.
