Senator Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) told 'Hannity' on Wednesday that the case for Trump's impeachment is growing weaker by the day. He pointed to new details about the days which led up to Jan. 6, and questioned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's prior knowledge of what could occur.

The Washington Post, citing an internal document, reported last month that prior to the deadly Jan. 6 riot, the FBI office in Virginia issued a warning that extremists were headed to Washington, D.C.  for "war." Pipe bombs were also later discovered near the Capitol were placed there the night before, reports said.

The revelations seem to contradict early claims that Trump's speech that day led to the unrest, Graham said.

"Here’s what I want to know: What did Nancy Pelosi know and when did she know it?" Graham said. He also made clear his belief that anyone who broke into the Capitol should be punished. Pelosi's office did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News.

As Americans are scrutinizing every aspect of these claims, Democrats have seemingly distanced themselves from the initial claims of Trump's Jan 6 speech directly incited violence at the Capitol. Now, as the Impeachment managers have stated, they are focusing on Tweets, rhetoric, and other 'inflammatory speech' from time before the 6th.

Graham stated, "Their argument is falling short and [I] believe Democrats have less support today than they did earlier in the week."

"The whole storyline, originally, was Trump created this with his speech," Graham said. "Now we know that people had this on their mind before he spoke. So now they’re playing this bizarre game of trying to get Trump in on it before Jan. 6…This is why you don’t want to have snap impeachments."

When Will the Democratic Leadership Claim Responsibility Also?

The constant moving of the goal posts will set a terrible precedent. It will weaken the case of the Democrats. This will also open the door for former President Trump's lawyers to focus on the never-ending barrage of incitement from the Democratic leadership.

Too often, during Trump's presidency did the media gleefully support the aggressively negative rhetoric of Democratic leadership. Leaders such as Hillary Clinton, Maxine Waters, and even Nancy Pelosi urged the public to resist, riot, protest, fight, and 'attack'.

By all accounts, this is the same divisive style of rhetoric that incites violence. Encouraging the public to fight back and resist increased aggressive interactions between political parties. Many believe this rhetoric by Democratic leadership was irresponsible and caused much of the looting and burning of cities. Additionally, inaction over incidents like 'Chaz', but constant Trump Collusion conspiracies may have helped build the angry foundation for these extremists.
