Portia Dickens, aided ‘thousands’ in recovery, killed by hit-and-run driver

On July 8th Portia Dickens was killed by a hit-and-run driver in North Dallas.  She lived in Sacramento, California, but had been visiting the Dallas-Ft. Worth area since May. 

Portia was struck and killed on the road. And the driver drove off without stopping to aid her. The DPD has released street cam photos of the brownish-gray SUV that struck the woman.

 The vehicle was last seen driving east on Midpark Road, police said. And noted that it has major dents and damage on the front of the vehicle.

According to the Dallas Police Department press release:  “On July 8, 2022, at approximately 9:34 p.m., the suspect vehicle was traveling northbound on 13400 Esperanza Road and struck a pedestrian, resulting in their death. The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Midpark Road.”

Dickens always said she “raised kings and queens.” Her son, Yamil Little was wearing a crown when he was interviewed by WFAA, a local television station in Dallas.
