The infamous attorney for the former President of the United States of America, Rudy Giuliani is now facing repercussions for his hand in aiding Donald Trump in 2020. Giuliani violated the professional conduct rules for attorneys, and is facing the possibility of sanctions for helping the ex-President in his scheme to overturn the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania. Specifically, for filing a lawsuit requesting the court to overturn the election results. This was determined by a professional conduct committee put together to analyze his conduct. This committee first filed their initial charges against Giuliani in June 2022, claiming that he "weaponized his law license in an effort to invalidate up to 1.5 million mail-in ballots when he filed the lawsuit in Pennsylvania on Donald Trump's behalf. Since June 2022, the disciplinary committee has listened to three days worth of evidence presentations, a hearing, and a testimony relating to the Pennsylvania lawsuit. The Washington D.C. Bar's Office of Disciplinarily Counsel made a preliminary determination the Giuliani may be liable for filing a frivolous proceeding that was not based in law or fact. He also allegedly took part in conduct that was "prejudicial to the administration. of justice". Some time in the new future, the former New York mayor will sit in front of the professional committee, who will determine if Giuliani will be sanctioned, or even disbarred.

Giuliani has been a member of the Washington D.C. bar since 1976, however his license has been suspended since 2021. Additionally, his law license has been suspended in the state of New York. Since the allegation were made, the Rudy Giuliani has responded in defense of his actions. He claims that the lawsuits he filed were in fact based in both law and fact, and that he made a "good faith representation of his client, Donald Trump."
