As you know, the World Series is going on, and some of the best rappers, like Ice Cube and Fat Joe, were invited to entertain the audiences present to cheer the baseball match between the Dodgers and Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Ice Cube and Fat Joe sang their rap hits. But, the viewers witnessed Fat Joe's failed performance at the game.

However, things took an awkward U-turn in the case of the New York native Fat Joe, whose singing miserably failed and compelled the spectators to leave negative feedback on social media.

Ice Cube took to the Dodgers Stadium to entertain baseball enthusiasts in Los Angeles during Game 2. He set the stage on fire by customizing his hits “Bow Down” and “It Was a Good Day” according to World Series, giving something to the people to remember. Everyone loved his performance.

Fat Joe had a similar plan in his mind and assumed that he would also deliver a record-breaking performance, but sigh. The rapper opened Game 3 wearing a pair of signature Timberland boots, which were brown in color, and a Yankees letterman jacket with a matching Terror Squad fitted cap x NYY, ready to pump up more than 40,000 fans at the stadium. What did he sing? Fat Joe tailored a few of his hits, “Lean Back,” based on the World Series, moving ahead with Ja Rule’s “New York,” and last but not the least, “All The Way Up”. Instead of getting the crowd on their feet, all were badly let down. 

Fat Joe’s Failed Performance: Good Reasons 

At one end, Ice Cube gave a thrilling performance that provoked the viewers present at the stadium and outside to enjoy every beat of the special editions he sang. Whereas Fat Joe’s All The Way Up is considered a high-energy track, his selection seemed irrelevant to baseball enthusiasts since the song did not match the vibe of the game. 

The Mixed Criticism Of Fans Related To Fat Joe’s Rapping

When artists disappoint fans at a concert or even a game, they immediately take to their social media accounts and post their honest opinions. The same happened in this situation as well. Multiple users from all backgrounds, including baseball, wrote on X that Fat Joe lost votes for being everyone’s favorite rapper. Where Ice Cube set a standard by delivering exceptional hits like “It Was A Good Day” and carefully carving them according to the baseball game, Fat Joe did not take the benchmark seriously and chose the wrong hit, which made them wonder how he dared to sing those words on air. 

Out of many mixed reactions, here are the ones that gathered the most attention:

“It seemed that they got Fat Joe as a replacement for the Yankees,” a user wrote on X.

Angry sports fans came up with memes to humiliate the mess Fat Joe’s failed performance had made at the stadium, saying that tonight, Yankees fans witnessed how the rapper’s performance was a huge miss and killed the stadium’s excitement. 

Even after Fat Joe had ended the performance, not a single fan reacted with a thumbs-up. They all felt depressed and left comments regarding Fat Joe's failed performance as if they were attending some funeral or wondering why he even thought of singing that song as an opening one. He should have taken notes from Ice Cube before deciding to hit the axe on his foot. 

Some fans thought that maybe the renowned Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z was busy somewhere else, or else he would have been the star of the night. 

Another fan wrote related to Fat Joe's failed performance that organizers should have reconsidered their decision while booking rappers to entertain since asking Fat Joe to sing and that too at the opening of the game was one of the worst decisions. They could have waited for better rappers to show up so that fans wouldn’t regret paying so much to watch the game. 

An X user wrote that he does not hate Fat Joe, but getting him onboard as an opening singer for Game 3 was one of the most terrible decisions. It felt that the organizers were short of budget, and they purchased Fat Joe on a 50% off sale. 

A sports show host also stepped in and agreed with the other fans regarding Fat Joe's failed performance , saying that the person who came up with the idea of signing the deal with Fat Joe deserves to be fired. They were left speechless and infuriated at what the New York rapper did after the amazing performance of Ice Cube. If George Steinbrenner was present then he would have banned Fat Joe from entering Yankee Stadium, without giving the decision another thought. 

Roy Woods Jr. a well-known comedian wrote regarding Fat Joe’s failed performance at the World Series that Fat Joe’s singing literally gave a heart attack to the cameraman, who was showing the match and the mini concert in between. 

Even former Boston Red Sox hitter David Ortiz and Fox Sports commentator also took to Fat Joe's failed performance saying that they could feel how the energy of the public gradually died during Fat Joe’s time on the stage. At the same time, Ice Cube stole the limelight through his rapping, which made people groove to the beats. 

Twitter was full of Fat Joe’s failed performance as fans labeled it to be an awkward and irrelevant move, making it very clear that the audiences certainly did not support Fat Joe’s “All The Way Up” did not match the level of intensity of The World Series as it used to be.
