In a shocking and tragic turn, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch was discovered coughing up blood and struggling on the bathroom floor of a General Motors training facility in North Carolina, according to a chilling 911 call obtained by NBC News.

The emergency call, placed around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday — just one day before Busch’s death was publicly announced — described the 48-year-old driver as short of breath, extremely hot, and on the verge of passing out.

“I’ve got an individual that’s… shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he’s going to pass out and is producing a little bit of blood — coughing up some blood,” the caller said. “He’s awake. He’s on the bathroom floor right now.”

The man requested an ambulance and asked for sirens to be turned off as he waited outside the Chevrolet Technical Center in Concord.

NASCAR confirmed Busch’s passing but has not yet released an official cause of death. The driver had been using a racing simulator at the facility when he fell ill. He had recently complained of a severe sinus cold that worsened during races due to intense G-forces.

Just days earlier, Busch had won a Truck Series race in Dover and told reporters he was “still not great” but pushing through. In what became his final post-race interview, he reflected poignantly: “You never know when the last one is going to be, so cherish them all — trust me.”
