President Donald Trump just made a stunning announcement about the future of the role of the attorney general and he did it on Twitter.

“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!

“As per the letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, an outstanding person, will become Acting Attorney General. Highly respected Richard Donoghue will be taking over the duties of Deputy Attorney General. Thank you to all!” the president said on Twitter.

This follows, as we previously reported, a ton of tension.

Attorney General Bill Barr has gone full anti-President Donald Trump in the weeks since the election and the two are not on friendly terms.

But some of his work that has caused the president to be furious with Barr started before the election took place.
