Colorado’s Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has issued a code red alert and reported that “multiple deputies are down” in “active” situation.
It has advised residents to stay away from the area, shelter in place and avoid windows while the incident unfolds.

ABC Denver reported that officers responded to a shots fired call at 3403 East County Line Road Sunday morning.
Denver7’s Meghan Lopez arrived on scene and reported hearing gunshots ring out in the distance. She also noted several roads were closed in the area due to the police response.
