The descendants of both Eddowes and Kosminski have expressed their support for this initiative. Edwards and his team have formally requested permission from the attorney general to take the case to Britain’s High Court.

“The name Jack the Ripper has become sensationalized. It has gone down in history as this famous character,” said Karen Miller, the great-great-great-granddaughter of Eddowes, in an interview with the Daily Mail.
