Doraville Police said it conducted an administrative investigation and spoke to Bryant about the incidents, and the behavior stopped. Then Bates’s case was closed due to a “lack of leads.”

Recently, new information was received, and the investigation into her case was reopened. Bryant was charged with first-degree burglary in Snellville. Officials said he allegedly tampered with a locked bedroom window during the break-in.

The additional charges against Bryant bring to light a potential pattern of concerning behavior. Bates’s account of Bryant’s stalking and burglary is similar to the accusations made against him in the Morales case. And his alleged criminal behavior in Snellville adds to the already disturbing charges he faces in connection with Morales’s death.

According to the Morales family, the local police told them that they had to wait 48 hours to report the 16-year-old missing. And when they did report her missing, they believe the police insisted Susana was a runaway.

They insist that the police investigation started months later after her body was found. And claim that Miles Bryant was a police officer until “just before” he was charged with her murder.
