Lu Kang is a foreign ministry spokesman for China. He stated that the comments Mnuchin made show that both sides are trying to avoid a potential trade war. However, he said that due to the increased interaction between the world’s two most powerful economies, China is not able to assure the U.S. that more disputes or frictions are not going to happen.
