NYPD Gears Up for Violence Amid ex-Hamas Chief’s Call for Global Protests

global protests

The New York Police Department (NYPD) has taken decisive action in preparation for potential global protests. The former leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, who served as the chief of the radical Islamic organization from 2004 to 2017 is calling for pro-Palestinian rallies.

This move comes in response to violent clashes that erupted during pro-Palestinian rallies worldwide in the wake of Saturday’s sneak attacks on Israel by Hamas.

Authorities in major U.S. cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, were summoned to address skirmishes at massive demonstrations where pro-Israeli counter-protestors encountered supporters of the surprise attack on the Jewish State.

These escalating tensions have prompted the NYPD to issue a critical directive: all uniformed officers must report for duty in their uniforms starting this Friday. The order will remain in effect "until further notice."

A Clear NYPD Directive

The directive, issued on Wednesday night, emphasizes that "all uniformed members of the service in every rank" should be prepared for deployment in uniform. Importantly, no excusals or shift changes will be granted during this period of heightened readiness.

The NYPD is reinforcing its commitment to public safety in the face of potential unrest.

Hamas' Call for Global Protests

Khaled Meshaal's call for global protests adds a significant dimension to this ongoing security challenge. As former chief of Hamas, his influence and ability to mobilize supporters worldwide are substantial.

In a chilling statement Meshaal added, “To all scholars who teach jihad for the sake of God and who preach the fighters and martyrs, to all who teach and learn, this is a moment of application [of theories] so that words are not just words."

It's clear that the NYPD is taking this threat seriously.

Additionally, the NYPD is proactively increasing security measures across all 77 police precincts. Extra officers are being assigned to monitor entryways and parking areas at these stationhouses, further demonstrating their dedication to maintaining order and safeguarding public spaces.

Coordinated Response to Potential Mayhem

In anticipation of possible mayhem, the NYPD has activated its Joint Operations Center (JOC) at its Manhattan headquarters.

This center will serve as a focal point for coordinating responses to any incidents related to the global protests. The NYPD has also established communication channels with multiple agencies, including the Sanitation Department, the Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority, and the FDNY.

These agencies are required to promptly inform the JOC as soon as they become aware of any incidents related to this event, ensuring a swift and coordinated response to any situation that may arise between Thursday and Sunday.

Sneak Attack on Israel

The situation leading up to these global protests is rooted in a devastating sneak attack on Israel, characterized by an assault conducted by Hamas terrorists who stormed the country by land, sea, and air. Their indiscriminate attacks resulted in the loss of lives of innocent citizens as Hamas invaded villages near the border.

This attack marked the deadliest assault on Israel in 75 years. Hamas terrorists fired thousands of rockets and sent militants into Israeli towns, targeting civilians.

The toll included over 1,300 Israelis dead, more than 3,000 wounded, and at least 100 taken hostage. Tragically, it is estimated that over 100 citizens of other nations, including 25 Americans, lost their lives, with the death toll expected to rise.

Horrific images emerged of Hamas terrorists taking female hostages and parading them in the streets, while multiple beheaded children were found in the aftermath of the invasion.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared, "We are at war" and vowed that Hamas would face a price "it has never known."

On the Palestinian side, Gaza health officials reported at least 1,400 Palestinians killed and more than 6,000 injured, underscoring the scale of the tragic conflict.
