The New York Police Department (NYPD) has taken decisive action in preparation for potential global protests. The former leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, who served as the chief of the radical Islamic organization from 2004 to 2017 is calling for pro-Palestinian rallies.

Authorities in major U.S. cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, were summoned to address skirmishes at massive demonstrations where pro-Israeli counter-protestors encountered supporters of the surprise attack on the Jewish State. 

These escalating tensions have prompted the NYPD to issue a critical directive: all uniformed officers must report for duty in their uniforms starting this Friday. The order will remain in effect “until further notice.”

A Clear NYPD Directive

The directive, issued on Wednesday night, emphasizes that “all uniformed members of the service in every rank” should be prepared for deployment in uniform. Importantly, no excusals or shift changes will be granted during this period of heightened readiness.
