Elon Musk has pledged his “full commitment” to his companies following a series of X outages that disrupted service for hundreds of thousands of users.

 As the billionaire grapples with increasing pressure on multiple fronts—including political entanglements, declining Tesla sales, and tech infrastructure issues—his focus is shifting back to the core technologies at X, xAI, Tesla, and SpaceX.

X Outages Spark Mass Complaints and Monitoring Alerts

According to Downdetector, more than 25,000 users initially reported connection issues with the social media platform X on Saturday morning. That number quickly surged beyond 100,000, making it one of the most significant disruptions in the platform’s recent history.

Netblocks, a global internet observatory, confirmed that the outages were not connected to previous error messages and indicated a new, large-scale disruption.

In response, Elon Musk admitted in a post on X that “intended load distribution mechanisms did not work.” He added that he’s now working around the clock, sleeping in “conference rooms, server rooms, and factories” to fix the issues.

Political Ties Complicate Business Operations

Musk’s close ties to former President Donald Trump—now returned to the White House—have drawn increased scrutiny. Musk became the face of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a federal initiative aimed at budget cuts.

While Musk reportedly spent over $250 million on Trump’s recent campaign, he is now switching his priorities. “I’ve done enough already,” he posted on X, suggesting he will "spend significantly less" on political efforts going forward.

Business Impact: Tesla Faces Declining Sales in EU

Musk’s political visibility may be contributing to falling Tesla sales, especially in international markets. In March 2025, Tesla's car sales in the European Union dropped by 36%, and Q1 2025 saw a nearly 50% decline year-over-year.

Despite these losses, Musk’s net worth continues to soar. An Oxfam report revealed that ten of the richest Americans gained $365 billion in wealth last year, with Musk alone accounting for $186.1 billion of that increase.

Musk’s Focus: X, Tesla, xAI, and Starship

Musk stated that he must now be “super focused” on his core ventures, particularly X/xAI, Tesla, and the upcoming Starship launch. Each project is positioned as introducing “key technologies” vital to the future of his business empire.
