A high stakes legal battle has taken a dramatic turn as prosecutors reveal explosive new video evidence in the case against rising rapper Pooh Shiesty. The footage, recently submitted to a federal court in Dallas, purportedly captures the artist using intimidation to secure his release from Gucci Mane’s prestigious 1017 Records.

The incident, which took place at a Texas music studio back in January, has resulted in serious kidnapping and extortion charges against Pooh Shiesty and eight other individuals. As the legal proceedings intensify, the details emerging from court documents paint a disturbing picture of a business meeting that allegedly spiraled into a violent criminal encounter.

A Business Meeting Turned Into a Nightmare

According to the federal indictment, the victims traveled to Dallas specifically to discuss recording contracts and professional business matters with the 1017 Records team. Among those targeted was the owner of the label, identified in court filings by the initials R.D. The gravity of the situation is reflected in the lyrics of the Gucci Mane track "Crash Dummy," released earlier this spring, which explicitly references the incident: "I thought it was a business meeting, but it was a set up."

Prosecutors allege that the victims were held at gunpoint while the defendants orchestrated a calculated robbery. The court records state that Pooh Shiesty, legally known as Lontrell Williams Jr., produced a physical contract at the studio. He allegedly demanded that the label owner sign the document to finalize his immediate release from his recording obligations. When the man initially resisted, Pooh Shiesty reportedly escalated the situation by pressing an AK style pistol to the victim's head until the document was signed.

The Power of Surveillance and Digital Evidence

This damning video was brought to light in response to a motion filed by the defense. Pooh Shiesty’s legal team had requested that the rapper be granted home confinement, arguing that the existing evidence was insufficient to keep him in federal custody pending trial.

Federal prosecutors vehemently opposed the request, characterizing the evidence against the artist as extraordinarily strong. Beyond the video footage showing the forced contractual release, authorities claim to have a comprehensive case built on:

• Cooperating Witnesses: All five victims and key witnesses are currently providing statements to investigators.

• Cell Phone Geolocation: Digital data places the defendants directly at the scene of the alleged crimes during the time of the incident.

• Surveillance Footage: Additional video evidence captures the movements of the accused throughout the studio.

The video of the forced signature was reportedly recorded on a cell phone by fellow defendant Rodney Wright, known as BIG30. During the filming, another accomplice allegedly stood guard at the studio exit, brandishing a firearm that resembled an AK 47 style rifle to prevent anyone from escaping.
