Crypto Punks and The Bored Ape Yacht Club are now having a fierce competition with 10,000 anime characters for the spot in the nonfungible tokens (NFTs) space.

Azuki, an upcoming NFT collection that launched earlier this year has reached over $300 million in sales in the last month alone. This puts the digital collectibles in the No.1 spot in NFTs trading for the last 30 days, according to OpenSea, first reported by Forbes.

NFTs are digital collectibles based on blockchain technology. The digital assets rose in popularity early last year. The market reached a thrilling $41 billion in sales in 2021 alone. The market is dominated by The Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks collections, which both have a billion dollars worth of all-time trading volume.
