Democratic leaders have come under fire from members of their own base who fear they are spending too much time and energy focusing on President Trump, reports The Hill.

An Overview of Concerns from Liberal Voters

Since the inception of the Trump Presidency, both Democrats and liberals vocalized their determination to "resist" the Commander-in-Chief and his policies. The left has frequently blasted Donald Trump as a racist, sexist, xenophobe, misogynist, etc since the dawn of his campaign. This phenomenon has yet to change. However, recent reports show that liberal voters are concerned about whether or not their leaders are effectively getting work done.

Unlike President Trump, liberals and Democrats have advocated for various left-wing policies. The aforementioned policies include amnesty, universal healthcare, stricter gun regulations, and more. In the past few weeks, liberal voters have also expressed an interest in the economy and the implementation of progressive policies. Though, Democratic Americans are now expressing concerns about whether their leaders' battles with President Trump are halting policy progress.

A director of a liberal advocacy organization expressed the aforesaid matters in the hereinafter statements:

"You can't win just by saying how awful Trump is. We need a positive economic agenda. It's got to be bigger and bolder than just the conventional nostrums of the past."

It appears as though some Democratic leaders agree with the preceding sentiment. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has opined the importance of prioritizing liberal policies over political warfare with President Trump:

"I don’t think we should be talking about impeachment. We want to talk about what they’re doing to undermine working families in our country and what we are doing to increase their payrolls and lower their costs."

Will Democrats Heed the Warnings of their Voters?

Ultimately, only time will tell whether or not Democrats choose to prioritize their policies over battles with President Trump. Since the Commander-in-Chief assumed office, multiple Democrats have publicly spoken out against him and even drafted articles of impeachment. No attempts to impeach the President have succeeded thus far.

Conservatives and Trump supporters have moreover criticized Democrats for their immense condemnation of the sitting President. The aforementioned condemnation is often dubbed as "Trump Derangement Syndrome" by right-wingers.
