On Friday, he played a critical role of delaying a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination for a week. He demanded an FBI investigation into the sexual assault allegations against the Supreme Court nominee. Hid fellow Republicans agreed to his request.
Subsequently, President Donald Trump released a statement indicating that he “ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file.”
Additionally, Trump made it clear that the scope of the investigation “must be limited and completed in less than one week.”
The FBI is expected to deliver the result of its investigation to the White House and the Senate on Wednesday.
