A sweeping law enforcement crackdown tied to the Mexican mafia LA raid is unfolding across Southern California, with federal and local agencies executing coordinated strikes that officials describe as one of the region’s largest gang-related operations in recent memory.

Multi-Agency Operation Spans Dozens of Locations

Authorities confirmed that search and arrest warrants are being served at roughly 30 locations, concentrated largely in Orange County but extending throughout the broader Southern California region.

The operation is aimed at dismantling alleged members and associates of the Mexican Mafia network, with teams moving simultaneously like synchronized waves across neighborhoods—each hit designed to prevent suspects from slipping away.

At least two individuals were taken into custody at a residence in Lakewood, where law enforcement activity was visible during early morning raids. Additional arrests were reported in Santa Ana and Anaheim, as the operation widened.

Dozens Indicted in Expanding Case

Bill Essayli confirmed the scope of the case in remarks to reporters at the scene, describing a sprawling indictment involving about 40 individuals.

“We have indicted about 40 individuals in this case,” Essayli said. “It’s a very large case. About 10 of them are already in custody. A lot of them operate from within custody.”

He said roughly 30 remaining suspects were being targeted for arrest during coordinated early-morning operations, with law enforcement teams deployed to homes and residences across the region.

“The focus of this particular gang is they operate in Orange County,” he added.

Officials said the suspects face a range of charges, though most of the alleged criminal activity revolves around drug distribution networks.
