A mystery that began on the highways of the Southeast has taken a grim turn, as federal authorities confirmed that a missing truck driver found dead case has ended in tragedy.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Wednesday that the body of Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez was discovered in coastal Georgia, nearly two weeks after he vanished under suspicious circumstances.

Disappearance Traced Across State Lines

Gonzalez’s journey began routinely but quickly spiraled into uncertainty.

According to investigators, he picked up a shipment of vehicles on April 16 from the Port of Brunswick. The cargo was scheduled for delivery to Miami, Florida — a standard route for transport drivers.

But the trip never reached its destination.

Authorities say Gonzalez was last seen in the early hours of April 17 at a rest stop along Interstate 95 in Grant-Valkaria, Florida. After that moment, the trail went cold.

Abandoned Truck, Missing Cargo

Later that same day, his truck hauler was located in Port Wentworth — but it was no longer intact.

Several vehicles from the shipment were missing, and Gonzalez himself had vanished without a trace.

Investigators later recovered three of the missing vehicles in Florida, deepening the mystery and suggesting a trail that zigzagged across state lines like a puzzle missing its final piece.

Grim Discovery Ends Search

On April 29, the FBI confirmed the worst: Gonzalez’s body had been found in coastal Georgia.

Officials have not released the exact location of the discovery or details about the circumstances surrounding his death, leaving critical questions unanswered.

The case, once a search-and-rescue effort, has now shifted into a full investigation into what led to the truck driver’s disappearance and death.
