Only 28% of Democrats and 34% of Independent voters share this view.

During the 2020 presidential election, more than a handful of conservatives accused poll workers and others of tampering with (pro-Trump) ballots. However, none of these cases went anywhere. In fact, Republican judges, many of whom were appointed by former President Trump himself, rejected allegations of election fraud due to a lack of merit.

Four years later, the minds of many right-wing voters remain unchanged. Today, just 47% of Republicans believe poll workers will properly handle our nation’s elections. Among Democrats, 80% feel the women and men working the polls will do what’s right.

Dispelling myths about early voting

Despite the latent animosity towards early voting amongst Republicans, some right-wing officials have tried to put this to bed. In doing so, they’ve posited that refusing to vote early actually hurts conservatives and makes them less likely to win elections.

Allegheny County GOP chair Sam DeMarco spoke about this in Pennsylvania. Per DeMarco’s view, if Democrats are getting their votes submitted over a 50-day time period, Republicans stand little hope of “overcoming” this within a 13-hour window on Election Day.
