Russian Sudden Death Syndrome is purging Moscow’s elite

Only two months prior, Russian oil magnate Viatcheslav Rovneiko, 59, was ‘found unconscious’ late at night at his home. He later died at a hospital according to a report by Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper.

In February, Marina Yankina, 58, a top Russian defense official was found dead after plunging 160ft from a tower block window. She had been a key figure in the funding of  Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine working as head of the financial support department of the Ministry of Defence.
