A former employee of Sprouts Farmers Market has filed a lawsuit against the grocery chain, alleging that she was unlawfully terminated after reporting harassment related to her sexuality. The lawsuit, brought by Adrianna Dandridge, claims that she faced discriminatory comments and threats from a co-worker, and that her complaints to management were ignored, leading to her eventual firing.
Allegations of Harassment and Retaliation
Dandridge, who began working at Sprouts in 2016 and was transferred to a store in Tucker, Georgia, in October 2023, alleges that the harassment began in January 2024. According to the complaint, another department head at the store made derogatory comments about Dandridge’s sexuality, referring to her as a “bull dyke” and a man. The harassment escalated to the point where the co-worker allegedly threatened to involve her boyfriend in a physical confrontation with Dandridge.
Dandridge reported the harassment and threats to a store manager, who, according to the lawsuit, promised to address the situation but failed to take any action. The complaint further alleges that in March 2024, the same co-worker continued to harass Dandridge during an argument, despite being physically restrained by another department head.
