The police arrested two women in connection with the fatal shooting of a photographer outside a home in central Florida.

According to the authorities, Lakevia Davonna Pringle, 31, and Savon Chantay Tyler, 35, face charges related to the death of 34-year-old Lauren Ashley Martin. Martin was reportedly shot outside Tyler’s residence in Sanford, Florida. Police responded to a call on Tuesday, just after 7:00 p.m., and found Martin lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Martin’s family told a local news station that she worked as a photographer and had an ongoing dispute with Tyler over some photographs she had taken.

Verbal Dispute Turns Deadly

Police investigations revealed that Martin and Tyler had a longstanding disagreement, which led Martin to drive to Tyler’s residence. Once there, the two women began a verbal confrontation that soon escalated into a physical fight. Police stated that during the altercation, Tyler shot Martin several times, resulting in her death.

According to police, Pringle, who was present during the altercation, reportedly live-streamed it on social media. In the video, Pringle was urging Tyler to continue the confrontation. Police noted that Pringle’s lack of cooperation hindered multiple attempts to interview her about the events.

Charges and Police Statements

Following the incident, Tyler was taken into custody without resistance and charged with first-degree homicide. Pringle, who initially refused to cooperate with police, later turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was charged with principal in the first degree to first-degree premeditated homicide and taken to John E. Polk Correctional Facility.

In a statement, Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith expressed sorrow for Martin’s family, stating, "A family is mourning the loss of a loved one because someone chose to resolve a disagreement with violence. What started the argument between these two won’t be remembered, but the loss of Lauren will forever be with her family and friends. There are choices other than violence.”

Sanford, home to around 65,000 residents, is located about 25 miles northeast of downtown Orlando and is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area.
