The results in a slew of recent Trump polls are surprising to a lot of people.
A poll conducted by YouGov in collaboration with Yahoo has found that former President Donald Trump is still the favored candidate among Republicans for the 2024 presidential race, despite facing several investigations and lawsuits.
The poll asked 1,516 U.S. adults who they would vote for from among nine candidates if the Republican presidential primary were held now, and Trump received 45% of the support.
The poll also found that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has not yet announced his candidacy, came in a distant second with 20% of the vote. Businessman Perry Johnson, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and just announced tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy all received less than 5% of the vote each.
It is still early days and DeSantis was not at the event, but Trump is still sitting firmly on top of the Republican party.
