The Republican primary is getting increasingly competitive as each day passes. With November almost over and the Iowa caucuses coming up in January, GOP contenders are having to make some significant choices.

Recent weeks have already seen the field narrow with former Vice President Mike Pence and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott bowing out of the race. Meanwhile, the remaining candidates, such as Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Chris Christie, are now taking potshots at one another.

For instance, as DeSantis makes headway in Iowa, Haley's begun to target him in ads. Currently, Haley's also landed an endorsement of her own, this time from the right-wing Americans For Prosperity (AFP) organization.

What to know about AFP's endorsement of Haley

Americans For Prosperity is a leading conservative nonprofit group in the United States, hence why its endorsement of Haley carries weight.

In an official statement, AFP lauded the former UN ambassador and stated they're "[fully supporting] her." The conservative organization likewise declared that Haley's candidacy poses a chance for Republicans to nominate a leader who can defeat Biden in 2024.

This endorsement of Haley furthermore follows polls that show her beating the current president in a hypothetical general election matchup.

Not only did AFP comment that Haley is well-positioned to tackle the challenges facing the country, but the organization also said it's most equipped to back her throughout this process.

On X (previously known as Twitter), Haley put out an ad thanking Americans For Prosperity for the endorsement and acknowledging other supporters backing her campaign.

On Wednesday, December 6, Republican voters will get to see Haley on the debate stage with DeSantis, Ramaswamy, and Christie. It remains to be seen if the endorsement she picked up from Americans For Prosperity will propel her in the polls moving forward.

In addition to backing Haley, the group heralded her as Republicans' best shot of defeating Joe Biden. Now, time will tell if the former UN ambassador is able to pick up any more endorsements before next week's GOP debate.
