Publix followed suit weeks later, expanding the recall significantly after gathering additional epidemiological evidence — broadening it to cover more product types and bag sizes than the original, narrower recall.

Already Off Shelves, But Not Necessarily Out of Freezers

According to Publix's recall announcement, the affected products were pulled from store shelves by late June 2026. But the recall's real danger now lies in consumers' own homes — the berries may still be sitting in freezers across the affected region, and anyone who has them is urged to discard the products rather than risk consumption.

Why the Berries Pose a Risk
