Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) could release a “helmet-type” mixed reality headset by 2022, an augmented reality glasses by mid-2025, and an augmented reality contact lens by 2030-2040, according Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities.

“We foresee that the helmet product will provide AR and VR experiences. Glasses and contact lens types of products are more likely to focus on AR applications,” Kuo wrote in a note to investors.

The average weight for Apple’s mixed reality will be around 200 and 300 grams he said. However, if the technology company solves additional technical problems, the helmet-type headset will be weighing around 100 and 200 grams, The Information reported last month Apple will use a fabric mesh technology to reduce the weight.

The headset will offer an immersive experience. The device is projected to be “significantly better” than those on the market now. Additionally, it should be able to run independently of an iPhone, “more like a portable product” than a mobile one, said Kuo.

The price range for the headset will be around $1000 in the United States. However, Kuo said if his prediction about the release of the headset by 2022 is right, the price tag will be around $3,000.

Apple to launch an electric-car by 2024

Last month, Apple announced that it’s in talks with Hyundai Motor Group to assemble electric-cars. The tech giant started seeking automotive partners late last year to start producing electric-vehicles by 2024.

However, the negotiations with Hyundai halted due to a number of concerns raised by the automaker's management. During an earnings call with investors last month, a Hyundai executive said,  "We are agonizing over how to do it, whether it is good to do it or not. We are not a company which manufactures cars for others. It is not like working with Apple would always produce great results."

Meanwhile, Elon Musk CEO of giant electric car manufacturer Tesla (TSLA) commented on Apple’s battery. Musk said battery design is “strange and electrochemically impossible”.

He tweeted, “Tesla is already using iron-phosphate batteries in its vehicles. Monocell design is electrochemically impossible because the battery can’t produce a high enough max voltage to be usable. Maybe they meant cells bonded together, like our structural battery pack?”
