Artificial intelligence (AI) has an increasing role to play in society. Programs like Alexa, Echo, and even Google Assistant are each AI-generated and designed to streamline various tasks.
Over the past few years, the world’s been forced to have more conversations about the presence of this technology. Namely, people want to work out how to make the most of AI, while also containing its potential risks. So far, everyone is taking it in stride and crossing certain bridges as they emerge.
Here in America, more companies, workers, and students have begun using AI in different capacities. Governments at the state level could soon follow suit, namely via everyday traffic management.
How artificial intelligence could change traffic management across the nation
Today, states like Pennsylvania, Florida, California, and Texas are beginning to use AI to promote road safety. This is evident through employing the technology for the following tasks:
- Clearing out bottlenecks in traffic
- Constructing materials to absorb noise
- Building components to trap greenhouse gas emissions
- Boosting the safety of pedestrians
- Detecting accidents or troublesome situations on the road
Driving this work is a goal to make commuting easier and safer for everyone involved. If all goes well in the aforementioned states, the remaining 46 may also decide to use AI for similar purposes.
