According to the FTC, the actions of DiscountMetalBrokersInc violated federal law. Both the FTC Act and the FTC’s Mail, Internet or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule state that when a shipment date isn’t given, it is reasonable for consumers to expect a time frame of 30 days for delivery. If the seller cannot meet that delivery date, the seller must get the consent of the consumer for the delay, cancel the order, or and issue a prompt refund.

DiscountMetalBrokersInc Ordered to Refund $6.5 Mill in Refunds

DiscountMetalBrokersInc and its owners, Donald Lee and Katherina Dayer, to refund $6.5 million to consumers. The Dayers, along with other named defendants associated with the business, are banned from selling investment opportunities, misrepresentation of goods or services, and from further violating federal law.
