The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) has filed a motion with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), urging the agency to halt any decisions regarding SpaceX until an ethics committee can determine how to handle the company’s regulatory matters, following Elon Musk’s appointment to a new role in the upcoming Trump administration.

The UCCA, which has previously engaged with SpaceX and Musk at the FCC, voiced concerns over the potential conflicts of interest that Musk’s new position could introduce. Musk, who is the owner of SpaceX, satellite internet company Starlink, and other ventures like X Corp. (formerly Twitter) and Tesla, has been tapped to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency — a proposed agency by the Trump administration aimed at reducing government regulations.

In its filing, the UCCA requested that the FCC delay its review of SpaceX’s application to launch approximately 22,000 additional satellites. The group argues that the FCC should avoid making any decisions related to Musk’s companies until it fully understands how his new role could impact the agency’s objectivity and decisions.
