Residents of Queen Creek and Gilbert have reported feeling terrorized by the group, with some even stating that their children have begun carrying firearms for protection. The parents of the accused are also facing scrutiny, with questions arising about how their children could become involved in such violent behavior.
Attorney Eric Crocker, who is representing Treston Billey, one of the accused, has criticized the prosecution’s portrayal of the group as a “hybrid gang,” calling the term “highly prejudicial” and arguing that it could prevent his client from receiving a fair trial.
All seven members of the group pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges on August 8. Their trial is scheduled to begin until July 2025.
