Goetz Fitzpatrick LLP and Platzer Swergold Goldberg Katz & Jaslow LLP have announced plans to merge next year, creating a new entity in New York City. The newly formed firm, Goetz Platzer LLP, will be headquartered at One Penn Plaza and will officially launch on Jan. 1.
Goetz Fitzpatrick and Platzer merger : Leadership and Vision
Aaron Boyajian, the current managing partner of Goetz Fitzpatrick, and Cliff Katz, a partner at Platzer Swergold, will serve as co-managing partners of Goetz Platzer. Boyajian emphasized the merger’s significance in the legal industry.

Equity Partners and Key Personnel
The merger will see the integration of key personnel from both firms. Equity partners will include Boyajian, Katz, Donald Carbone, Howard Jaslow, John Simoni, Howard Rubin, Alison Besunder, Henry Swergold, and new equity partner Morgan Luchs. Other partners joining Goetz Platzer are Michael Fleishman, Linda Gates, Paul Hahn, Gary Kushner, Teresa Sadutto-Carley, Paul Skurman, and Gerard Strain.
Goetz Fitzpatrick and Platzer merger : Expanding Practice Areas and Expertise
The Goetz Fitzpatrick and Platzer merger will double the size of both firms, enhancing their core practice areas in construction law, finance, real estate, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and trusts and estates. Goetz Platzer will house 35 attorneys, combining their expertise to cover a broad spectrum of legal services. These include construction, real estate transactions and finance, commercial litigation, labor and employment, asset-based lending, bankruptcy, debtor/creditors’ rights, corporate restructuring, trusts and estates, factoring and receivable finance, and equipment leasing.
Strategic Consolidation
The firms will start consolidating their practice areas in the third quarter of this year to ensure a smooth transition. Goetz Fitzpatrick’s specialization in construction and real estate law, commercial litigation, and trusts and estates will blend with Platzer Swergold’s focus on commercial litigation, real estate transactions and finance, asset-based lending, bankruptcy, debtor/creditors’ rights, corporate restructuring, factoring and receivable finance, and equipment leasing.
