New York Provides Nearly $1M in Funding to Support People with AIDS/HIV

Additionally, the lieutenant governor said the state of New York is also investing in research and programs to fight the AIDS epidemic.

Recipients of the funding

The State of New York granted the funding to the following non-profit organizations:

  • The Support Ministries, Inc. in Saratoga County received $294,000. The organization has 17 permanent supportive housing units for single adults in the county. It will use the funding for case management, personal care aids, nutritional services, gas and electric and property/liability insurance.
  • The Faces NY in New York County received $222,987. The organization has 31 permanent supportive housing units for single adults in the county. It will use the fund for building security, wellness programming, LPN services, mental health services, building maintenance, gas and electric, and program supplies.
  • The Corporation for AIDS Research, Education, and Services in Albany County received $151,456. The organization operates 10 single units and 14 family units across the county. It will use the funding for case management, staff development, client events, and office supplies.
  • The Liberty Resources, Inc. in Onandaga County received $109,602. The organization operates six permanent supportive housing units for families. It will use the funding for case management, lawn and building maintenance, trash removal, alarm services, telephone, extermination services, property insurance, and liability insurance.
  • The SUS-Mental Health Programs, Inc. in Bronx County received $86,075. The funding will support its 17 permanent supportive housing units for families in the county including case management, social activities and staff training.
  • The Harlem United Community AIDS Center, Inc. in New York County received $76,873 for its 25 permanent supportive housing units for single adults. It will use the funding for building security, educational/wellness counseling.
  • The Haven House/Bridges, Inc. (HHB) in Suffolk County received $41,007. The organization has four permanent supportive housing units for single adults and five units for families. It will use the funding for utilities, lawn maintenance, refuse collection, and property insurance.
