According to Miles, Adams’ passing was peaceful, and he was surrounded by loved ones. She also noted that Adams appeared to sense his death was imminent during a conversation the day before.

“He knew it was a different feeling than how he had been feeling before,” she said.

In May, Scott Adams revealed that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones. During a New Year’s Day episode of Real Coffee with Scott Adams, he delivered a blunt assessment of his prognosis.

“My chances of recovery are essentially zero,” Adams told viewers.

That same day, Adams wrote what would become his final message, which Miles read aloud following the announcement of his death.

“If you are reading this, things did not go well for me,” Adams wrote. “My body failed before my brain.”

He also addressed any speculation about outside influence on his decisions, adding, “Please know I’m free of any craziness or any inappropriate influence of any sort, I promise.”
