Discord Evidence and Crossovers
Screenshots from Midjourney’s Discord server feature users flaunting creations of Warner Bros. characters, sometimes crossing universes in mashups. One image cited in the complaint depicts Batman with R2-D2 on Dagobah — a “Star Wars” planet — reimagined “in the style of Tim Burton.”
Warner Bros. claims these examples reveal a rampant culture of infringement baked into the Midjourney platform.

This suit follows similar legal action filed in June by Disney and Universal, who accused Midjourney of allowing users to generate images of characters from “The Simpsons,” “Star Wars,” and “Shrek.”
Warner Bros. said its move was necessary to defend decades of creative investment.
“The heart of what we do is develop stories and characters to entertain our audiences,” the studio said in a statement. “Midjourney is blatantly and purposefully infringing copyrighted works, and we filed this suit to protect our content, our partners and our investments.”
