House Vote Approves Release of Files on Jeffrey Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein Release of files

In a dramatic and near-unanimous vote, the House of Representatives approved a measure demanding the release of files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, setting the stage for swift action in the Senate and a signature from President Donald Trump.

Jeffrey Epstein: House Vote for Release of Files

The final House vote was 427-1, with only Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) opposing the measure. Lawmakers across the political spectrum expressed a shared desire for transparency after years of public speculation and political friction surrounding Epstein’s connections.

Within hours of the vote, Senate leaders signaled that they would not attempt to block the bill. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) confirmed that a hotline was being run to identify any potential Republican objections, while Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) later asked if anyone opposed unanimous passage. When no objections surfaced, the bill was deemed approved.

The effort marks one of the rare moments of bipartisan unity on a politically explosive topic.

Trump Says He Will Sign Jeffrey Epstein Bill

President Trump, who had previously suggested that investigations involving Epstein were part of a political attack against him, announced he would sign the bill once it reached his desk.

Trump called for the release Sunday on Truth Social.

As reported by USA Herald:
“Trump Says He’ll Sign Bill to Release Epstein Files to Stop Democrat Hoax” — USA Herald

“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide,” Trump wrote on social media. “It’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party.”

Trump’s comments underscore his assertion that the issue has been used as a political weapon. Still, his endorsement helped accelerate congressional action.

Some House Republicans Pressured the White House

Much of the momentum behind the bill came from a small bloc of GOP lawmakers—Reps. Thomas Massie, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Nancy Mace—who insisted the files should be released despite internal party pressure.

Last week, Rep. Boebert was summoned to the White House Situation Room for a meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. The meeting did not convince her to withdraw her support.

The standoff was notable because it marked a rare instance of MAGA-aligned lawmakers pushing back against Trump and prevailing—at least initially.

Senate Will Bring the Release of Files to Trump’s Desk

Following the Senate’s quick approval, the legislation will require Trump’s signature, a step expected to occur promptly.

The release of Epstein-related material could raise sensitive questions for prominent figures across political lines. While Republicans have suggested Democrats could face uncomfortable scrutiny, the full political implications will not be clear until the documents are made public.
