In a move that could redefine the renewable energy landscape across the eastern United States, Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. announced on Friday a $300 million strategic investment from Verite Capital Partners, marking one of the most ambitious private clean-energy partnerships in recent years.

The Buffalo, New York-based recycler, known for converting used cooking oil into renewable green energy, said the investment will expand its reach from 15 states to 25, stretching from Montreal to Miami. The company currently serves over 28,000 restaurant suppliers, operating one of the largest waste-to-energy collection networks in the Northeast.

The new capital infusion will roll out in three stages, focusing on organic expansion throughout the eastern U.S. According to the announcement, the funding will also support the construction of two state-of-the-art renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities — one in the Northeast and another in Mississippi.

“These facilities will be engines of both innovation and opportunity,” said Sumit Majumdar, Buffalo Biodiesel’s president and CEO. “With Verite’s partnership, we’re doubling down on our mission — transforming restaurant waste into renewable energy while driving real economic growth across underserved regions.”

The expansion is expected to create more than 600 new jobs, bolstering both environmental and economic sustainability across the company’s new service corridor.
