With just about one month left until the Iowa caucuses, Republican candidates seeking the party’s nomination remain on the campaign trails, making their case to the state’s voters.
Last week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wrapped up his tour of all 99 counties there. Fresh off a November endorsement from Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, DeSantis is promising Iowans that he’ll fight for them and win for them while conducting himself in a becoming manner.
Also competing in Iowa is former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. While Haley wasn’t able to secure Reynolds’ endorsement, she did lock in the backing of New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu earlier this week.
Now, new polling out of Iowa shows DeSantis and Haley neck-in-neck.
Here’s what’s happening in Iowa
Data from Des Moines has Haley polling at 16% support from Iowa voters. DeSantis, meanwhile, maintains a modest lead over her at 19%. Both GOP contenders’ polling increased in recent weeks as their campaigns garner more grassroots attention and endorsement from conservative power players.
