Three Women, Three Outcomes

Weinstein, 73, faced charges tied to three women across two indictments:

  • Convicted: Forced oral sex on Miriam Haley in 2006.

  • Acquitted: Allegedly assaulted Kaja Sokola, a model, the same year.

  • Deadlocked: Allegedly raped Jessica Mann in 2013 — the jury remains undecided.

This complex outcome follows a retried case after Weinstein’s original 2020 New York conviction was overturned by an appellate court. Weinstein was transported from California, where he remains incarcerated for separate sex crime convictions in Los Angeles.

Despite over 80 women accusing Weinstein of sexual abuse, the mogul continues to deny all criminal wrongdoing, claiming his sexual relationships were “mutually beneficial” — a defense that has stirred public anger and disbelief.

Legal Fireworks: A Mistrial Plea, Rejected

Weinstein’s defense team, led by Arthur Aidala, pushed repeatedly for a mistrial, pointing to the jury’s internal chaos. Aidala dubbed the group a “rogue jury,” but the court held firm, instructing them to push forward.

Yet, by Wednesday noon, a breaking point emerged. The jury foreperson signaled he could no longer continue, prompting a behind-closed-doors meeting with Judge Farber and counsel for both sides.

An hour later, the courtroom braced for impact — and the partial verdict was read.
