This is debatable and something which conservatives have pushed back against. That’s because many left-wing policies cannot succeed without increasing taxes on Americans. Bernie Sanders, another Democrat candidate, admitted last month that the middle class will pay more in taxes if Medicare-for-All succeeds. Sanders furthermore stated that higher taxes for government-run healthcare is a trade-off which Americans will appreciate.

On Friday, Harris also appeared on The View where she discussed her plans in the event of her winning the 2020 presidential election. Specifically, Harris noted her focus on dealing with issues that wake families up early in the morning.
She stated that dealing with issues such as how families will pay their rent is more important than “upending the markets” or “transforming the system.”
