MIAMI, FL – A Miami-based YouTube personality with nearly 600,000 subscribers is denying all allegations against him of orchestrating a brutal four-on-one assault at a Wynwood gym, claiming the victim actually “consented” to the violent encounter that left the internet stunned and law enforcement scrambling to file charges.
Wes Watson, the controversial fitness influencer behind the GP Penitentiary Life YouTube channel, filed his formal response to the civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade court on June 6, categorically denying wrongdoing in what prosecutors characterized as a “vicious and sustained physical attack.”
The confrontation began on December 29, 2024, at Elev8tion Fitness, located at 1625 N. Miami Ave. in the heart of Miami’s trendy Wynwood district. What started as Watson’s social media challenge quickly devolved into what victim Hakeem Ibrahim describes as an orchestrated ambush involving Watson, a gym co-owner, and two unidentified accomplices.
The incident was captured on surveillance footage that later surfaced on Reddit, where it rapidly went viral, showing disturbing scenes of a man being kicked, dragged by his hair, and struck repeatedly while pinned to the ground.
