Earlier this month, the New York Times published an article stating that President Trump has started to question the loyalty of Vice President Pence. However, similarly to the Wall Street Journal’s report, the commander-in-chief denied the Times’ assertions. Trump also stated that the new outlet failed to verify their sources and ask him for a quote.
In September, the New York Times also came under fire after they published an anonymous piece; an unknown member of the Trump administration allegedly wrote the article. Throughout the text, the writer stated that members of the administration are working against Trump for the sake of America. Following the publication of the piece, various individuals within the administration came forward, insisting that they did not write it.
President Trump has repeatedly criticized the mainstream media via Twitter and other outlets. He also maintains that the press bears responsibility for political unrest in the country.
Finally, the White House has also affirmed the commander-in-chief’s satisfaction with the performance of U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin.
