Speed Fibre Group, a telecommunications subsidiary of Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd., has officially completed its €22 million ($23 million) acquisition of BT Communications Ireland Ltd. The deal, announced Monday, marks a significant expansion of Speed Fibre’s footprint in the Irish telecom market and underscores Cordiant’s ambition to strengthen its digital infrastructure portfolio.
The acquisition was greenlit in April after securing approval from Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, clearing the last regulatory hurdle before closing.
What the BT Unit Brings to the Table
BT Communications Ireland provides wholesale fiber services and B2B connectivity to nearly 400 customers across Ireland, positioning it as a valuable addition to Speed Fibre’s operations.
By merging resources, Speed Fibre aims to diversify its offerings and enhance connectivity solutions for enterprises. The company believes this consolidation will sharpen its competitive edge, broaden its product suite, and accelerate its role in Ireland’s fast-evolving digital economy.
