Within this spending package, there will be funding for both defense funding and non-defense discretionary funds. The defense side of the package will include a budget of $858 billion, $38.7 billions going towards the United Stated Department of Justice. This includes a funding increase because the Department recently asked for a budget increase due to the demand on the United States attorneys because of the January 6, 2021 insurrection. There is also $8.5 billion in funding set aside for the federal judiciary, specifically for public defenders, security funding, and funding for the courts.

On the non-defense side, the Internal Revenue Service can look forward to aa $12.3 billion spending package, however this is $275 million cut from last years legislation. There is also an additional $25 million set aside for the National Labor Relations Board, $35 million for the United States Equal Opportunity Commission. Additionally, the legislation included a United States Patent and Trademark Office  bill, which will create outreach opportunities for minority women, military veterans, and individual inventors in order to promote diversity.
